Site Plans
Site plans are required by the City when new construction is planned or when an existing property plans to initiate change of use, change of coverage, or internal/external alternations. Site plans are reviewed by the Site Plan Review Committee.
The purpose of the Site Plan Review Committee is to review site plans for specific types of development to ensure compliance with all appropriate land development regulations (LDRs) and consistency with the Comprehensive Plan.
The Site Plan Review Committee duties include the review of site plans, site development, and pre-application meetings to mention a few. The Committee is comprised of the following members:
Gary W. Ernst, City Commissioner (Commissioner Bo Smith Alternate)
Sandi McKamey, City Clerk/Administrator
Dennis Monroe, Public Works Director
Jeff Shrum, Development Services Director
Eddie Abshier, City Engineer
Walt Brown, Certified Building Official
The committee meets every other Monday at 9 am. Applicants are encouraged to attend PRE-APPLICATION MEETINGS during this time before submitting basic or full site plans in an effort to alleviate any questions and to assist applicants with the requirements of the application process. These meetings are free and open to the public. Please contact the Development Services Department at (352) 233-2106 or (352) 233-2112 to find out when the next meeting will occur and to get on the schedule.
