Overview
The Finance Office is responsible for the financial reporting and record keeping of the City. This office encompasses Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Audit and Budget and provides public financial services in accordance with established financial policies.
Mission The mission of the Finance Office is to recommend and implement sound fiscal policies, ensure the effective and efficient use of fiscal resources, establish controls to adequately safeguard assets, and to provide the public with reports which demonstrate fiscal accountability in accordance with the highest administrative standards.
Purpose
The Finance Office develops and implements financial and accounting policies and procedures. It also provides a sound accounting system for protecting the City's assets by recording and reporting financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, Government Accounting Standards Board pronouncements and other legally mandated standards.
